A New Chapter for Heart of Grace: Our Website Is Live

After months of building, planning, and pouring our hearts into it — we’re thrilled to announce that the brand new Heart of Grace website is officially live.

If you’re reading this, you’re already here. Welcome. We’re so glad you found us.

For those who are new to Heart of Grace — we’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2018 in memory of our daughter Grace. During her final hospital stay, at just nine years old, Grace noticed other families around her who were struggling. They were scared, exhausted, and stretched thin in every way imaginable. And Grace, being Grace, wanted to help them.

That moment of compassion became our mission. Heart of Grace exists to provide comfort, financial relief, and support to families with children in long-term hospital stays — so no family has to face their hardest days alone.

Why a New Website?

The short answer: because our mission deserves a home that matches its heart.

As a small, volunteer-run organization, we’ve spent most of our energy where it matters most — directly helping families. But as we prepare to grow, we knew we needed a place where supporters could learn about our work, donors could give with confidence, and families could see that someone cares.

This new site was built from the ground up to do exactly that.

What You’ll Find Here

We wanted the site to be simple, warm, and easy to navigate — just like the kind of support we aim to provide. Here’s what’s new:

Our Programs — Learn about our three core programs: Family Care Bags (comfort items delivered directly to hospitals), Family Bill Relief (direct payment of essential bills for families in crisis), and Closet of Grace (clothing and personal essentials). Each one was designed around the real, day-to-day struggles families face during extended hospital stays. Explore our programs →

Online Donations — For the first time, you can donate directly through our website. We’ve partnered with Zeffy, a platform that charges zero fees to nonprofits, which means 100% of your donation reaches Heart of Grace. You can give a one-time gift or set up a monthly recurring donation to provide ongoing support. Make a gift →

Ways to Get Involved — Donating isn’t the only way to help. You can volunteer, host an item drive, become a corporate partner, or simply share our story with someone who might care. We’ve made it easy to find the right fit. See how you can help →

Grace’s Story — At the center of everything is Grace. Her story is woven throughout this site because she’s the reason it all exists. We hope that learning about her inspires you the way she continues to inspire us every single day.

What’s Coming Next

We’re not slowing down. This spring, we’re launching our first major fundraising campaign — Comfort in a Bag — with a goal of raising $5,000 to serve 40+ families across the Omaha area. Each dollar goes directly toward assembling and delivering Family Care Bags filled with comfort items for the whole family — parents, patients, and siblings.

We’re also actively working to establish our first formal hospital partnership and building out the infrastructure to launch our Family Bill Relief program later this year.

There’s a lot on the horizon, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

A Personal Note

Building this website has been a labor of love. Every page, every word, every detail was crafted with the families we serve in mind — and with Grace’s compassion as our guide.

Angela and I started this organization with a promise: to keep Grace’s compassion alive and to turn it into something that helps other families the way she would have wanted. This website is another step in keeping that promise.

If our mission resonates with you, we’d be honored if you’d take a moment to explore the site, share it with a friend, or consider making a gift. Every bit of support — no matter how small — makes a real difference for a real family.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping us carry Grace’s legacy forward.

With gratitude,
Jason & Angela Stearns
Co-Founders, Heart of Grace
