This spring, help us deliver comfort, essentials, and encouragement to 40+ families with children in long-term hospital stays across the Omaha area.
Why This Matters
When a Child Is Hospitalized, the Whole Family Hurts
When a child is admitted to the hospital for an extended stay, everything stops. Parents rush to the bedside with little more than what’s in their pockets. They skip meals to save money. They sleep in chairs. They forget to take care of themselves because every ounce of energy goes to their child.
Meanwhile, siblings are shuffled between relatives, scared and confused, carrying worry they can’t always express. The hospital stay becomes a crisis that reaches far beyond the diagnosis — touching every member of the family.
Our daughter Grace saw this firsthand. During her own final hospital stay, at just nine years old, she noticed other families struggling around her. That compassion is why Heart of Grace exists today — and it’s why we’re launching this campaign.
Comfort in a Bag is our answer: hand-assembled bags filled with comfort items, essentials, and encouragement — delivered directly to families who need to know they’re not alone.

Every family we serve receives a personalized set of bags, assembled with care.
Family Comfort Bag
For Parents & Caregivers
Blankets, toiletries, snacks, a water bottle, gift card, journal, phone charger — the essentials parents didn’t have time to pack.

Child Comfort Bag
For the Hospitalized Child
Age-customized (0–3, 4–10, 11–17) with blankets, plush toys, activities, and personal care items — because kids still need to feel like kids.

Sibling Support Bag
For Brothers & Sisters
Activities, snacks, a stuffed animal, and a “Super Sibling” badge — a reminder that they matter too.
