Who We Are
The People Behind the Mission
Heart of Grace is powered by a small, dedicated team united by one belief: no family should face their hardest days alone.
Leadership
Our Founders

Jason Stearns
President & Co-Founder
Jason co-founded Heart of Grace in 2018 in memory of his daughter Grace, who at just nine years old noticed other families struggling during her own hospital stay and wanted to help them. That compassion became the spark for everything Heart of Grace does today.
By day, Jason is an IT Systems Engineer at Children’s Nebraska hospital — a role that gives him firsthand insight into the challenges families face during extended pediatric stays. He brings that perspective to every aspect of the organization, from program design to hospital partnerships.
Jason oversees day-to-day operations, program development, and strategic planning for Heart of Grace.
Angela Stearns
Vice President & Co-Founder
Angela co-founded Heart of Grace alongside Jason, driven by the same promise — to honor their daughter Grace by turning her compassion into action. As Vice President, she helps shape the organization’s direction and ensures its programs stay rooted in the real needs of families.
Professionally, Angela is a Medical Assistant in a cardiology clinic, where she works closely with patients and families navigating serious health challenges. That daily experience informs her deep understanding of what families need most during difficult medical journeys.
Angela plays a key role in program oversight, volunteer coordination, and ensuring every family Heart of Grace serves feels genuinely cared for.
